Immer wieder braucht man man mal ein Rescue System - sei es weil das System nicht mehr startet, man Daten bei einem Plattencrash retten will oder einfach nur Platten repartitionieren will. SystemRescueCD gefällt mir sehr gut. Die Dokumentation ist auf Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Spanisch verfügbar. Es werden alle Dateisysteme erkannt und man findet viele nützliche Helferlein zum Retten von Daten. Vor allen Dingen, da ein einfacher shell Script Aufruf genügt um das System auf einem USB Stick zu installieren. Der Stick braucht ca 300 MB. Wenn man den Stick zusätzlich auch als Datenspeicherbenutzen will muss er entsprechend größer sein.

because your system doesn't start any more, you had a head crash and want to save your data or you just want to repartition your disks. I like SystemRescueCD. The documentation is available in English, German, French and Spanish. All file systems are supported and a lot of nice tools are available. In particular there is a shell script which easily allows to install the rescue system on an USB
stick. 300 MB is sufficient But if you want to use the stick also as a data repository the stick should have more memory.
