Ganz unten besteht die Möglichkeit einen Kommentar zu dieser Seite zu geben  

collectNWData braucht root Zugriff um alle notwendigen Informationen zu sammeln. Da verständlicherweise nicht jeder ein unbekanntes Script auf seinem System laufen lassen will wird deshalb nach dem Aufruf gefragt, ob es als root laufen soll. Wird dieses verneint werden verschiedene Analysepfade im Script nicht durchlaufen da dazu root Zugriff benötigt wird. 

 

Ein Script als root auszuführen ist verständlicherweise kritisch, speziell wenn es von einem Unbekannten erstellt wurde. Ich wäre zugegebenermassen auch sehr skeptisch dabei. Das Script sammelt aber einzig und allein nur Informationen, für die leider teilweise root Berechtigungen notwendig sind. Ich versichere hiermit: Es finden dabei keine Systemmodifikationen auf dem System statt.

 

Wenn immer noch Bedenken bestehen kann man mit Google nach collectnwdata suchen und wird feststellen, dass es schon eine Menge Leute gegeben hat, die das Script erfolgreich ausgeführt haben und denen es geholfen hat. Kein System ist zerstört worden.

Seit Version 0.6.3.0 besteht auch die Möglichkeit das Script  als normaler Benutzer aufzurufen .

That's why the script asks whether it should be executed as root. A negative response will cause the script to skip various analysis check.s

 

Everybody feels uncomfortable when a script is executed as root which was created by a stranger. I also would feel very uncomfortable. You can trust me: The only purpose of this script is to collect network information, which unfortunately requires root authorization. There are no modifications done on your system.

 

If you still have concerns just use Google and search for collectnwdata and you will find a lot of entries of people who sucessfully invoked the script and they got help.  No system was damaged.

 

 

Starting with version 0.6.3.0 it's possible to call the script as a normal user also .
