raspiBackup as of now is supported for RaspbianOS only. Raspberries 4B with 8GB and Raspberries 400 allow to install Ubuntu as operating system and it's  heavily used. That's why raspiBackup will support Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server in next release. I fortunately was able to buy a 8GB Raspi from the donations I got for raspiBackup to add and test the support for Ubuntu. Unfortunately it's not going into next 0.6.8 relaese. That's why there exists already a Beta for Ubuntu :-)

The beta was tested with Ubuntu 22.10 Desktop and Ubuntu 22.10 Server with rsync and normal mode and partitionorientierted mode successfully. You can download and test the beta as follows:

Ubuntu support in raspiBackup

  2. Download the beta version of raspiBackup into current directory
    curl -s | bash -s -- beta_ubuntu
  3. Invoke Beta version of raspiBackup (Attention: Note the leading period !)
    sudo ./ <options>
